Really wanted to go on Saturday but now the girls have jobs at the local ski shop so had to wait until Sunday. The girls were really stoked, us a little less so after BB's TR from yesterday we expected questionalble conditions. However, we were pleasantly suprised. Yes it was soft, yes it was thin later in the day but there were no places that had absolutely no coverage except loading and unloading the lift and they were trying to shovel in snow. I mean really, it was 58 degrees and we were skiing!

Skipink no longer has pink skis! They are a lot longer and took some getting used to. I'm sure I provided many with entertainment as I started out. They were really fun and in good conditions they will be great. Thanks to Bultaco for this great picture of my form (or lack of it).

At 10:00 the conditions don't look to bad.

Looking up Tom Terriffic and Boulder Dash from the 3/4 mark.

Looking down the Flying Mile from the 3/4 mark.

looking up Sugar Slalom where they widened the trail this summer.

As it got warmer in the afternoon it started getting thiner. Pink Jr has switched to short sleeves.

The girls had so much fun they begged to stay until the end... we left at 4:15, tired and happy.

How can you say it's time to go to this.

The truest irony is that two years ago on opening weekend at Sugar, I started my skiing journey in the same place and it took me all day to make four runs from just the Lower Flying Mile. No mater what the conditions, I had a fun time and am excited to be able to accomplish as much as I have. A great start to my season. :)

The baby was with Skipatrol. He only took him on a couple of runs very early. I heard him say that the baby really liked it when he went fast. :D

I am green with envy. The only TR I can post from this weekend is from a trip to the tree farm, which was quite fun.

Hi Pink.

Great pics but that guy skiing with his baby is nuts.

Be really careful with your new skis if you go back to Sugar. I have done some serious damage to my skis in the early season up there. I've got to the point where I just do'nt go to Sugar unless there is alot of snow on the slopes.

Great pics. Brings back memories of snowboarding with my son. I would be wore out and he would have to stay till the lifts stop running.
