The End of an Era...We are Shutting Down the Messageboard

The messageboard is now in read-only mode and no new posts or topics can be created. We will leave the messageboard up for historical purposes, but you will not be able to make new posts or comment on existing ones.

We have started a Discord server and hope that you all will join us on there. Technology has changed over the years and maintaining the messageboard has become somewhat of a pain in the butt and Discord offers many features for users, the main one being a very polished mobile app.

We really hope you all will join us on Discord and think you will like the platform. Use the invite link below to join.

I've always wanted to eat at The Peddler. Never thought I could afford it, probably can't, but is it worth it?

Good slopes = good management to me.

Does that good management include over reporting snow totals? Look at their website right now. It states 24 inches of new snow in the past 2 days, but everything else says they have received 18 inches.

You'll pay about 35 bucks a head for steak, salad, rolls and baked potatoe

If you can cook steak and have a kitchen I suggest buying the nicest steaks your local grocer has to offer....

and for as fancy as the restaurant is, their salad bar has vienna sausages on it, this was great when I was a kid but now I just think its almost some joke on the part of mgmt to see which rednecks actually eat them

I have avoided Sugar Mountain now for about 10 years because of their bad customer service. There are better and cheaper places to ski in NC, VA and WVA. I haven't missed a thing by avoiding them. I should have added also cleaner resorts.

On the subject of steaks, Costco has killer steaks, and good deals.

It is simple, really.

When you drive in, you see Sugar. Kids go bonk, it's there, so people ski it. They have location, location, location. Just like the Golden Arches of that bugger kingdom, selling what passes for a "hamburger". You get what you get at Sugar.

If you are a skier, and enjoy a mountain experience, you keep driving and arrive at Beech Mountain.

I'm an old dude. Closer to 50 than 40. Since I was 19 I haven't bothered to tread to Sugar for one reason: I like to ski.
