4 - The old guys are not as swag as the new guys blah blah blah



Maybe I should just create an index sticky so people can start a thread that says something like



"1 refer to index"



and that will be all that is needed

Totally uncool, hate that after traveling to get there. Like the season pass idea, when you break it down by day, if you plan on being in the mtns quite frequently it's worth it! Ours was paid for half way through christmas break and made leaving when the crowds got there much easier!

This is another one of those dead horse issues. Yes, IF Sugar advertised $32 and charged $64 that is wrong, but it is within their right. As soon as some oil company threatens gas price hikes service stations up their prices. Is that right? No. But they do it. Sugar might have opened up additional terrain and felt the ticket price was fair.



Either ski there or don't but quit griping about the prices. Sugar can get the prices they charge BECAUSE THEY PUT OUT A GREAT PRODUCT. You guys can gripe all you want but that's kind of like going into a nice restaurant and griping about how much they want to charge for a steak. You have the right to NOT buy that steak. The same is true for skiing. If you don't like it then ski elsewhere.



A lot of people have expressed opinions about cost ratios etc within this thread. It isn't about costs. It is about convenience. Most of us have convenience stores near our homes. Go buy a gallon of milk and you'll pay substantially more than if you drove for fifteen minutes more to the grocery store.



NC resorts are convenient to MILLIONS of residents in 10 states.





Sugar stays QUITE BUSY charging what they charge so I don't think the majority of people agree with most assessments on this thread. By continuing this kind of tantrum or tirade it really only belittles those of you who are griping about it.



Pay or go elsewhere. It really is that simple, isn't it. Not everyone can afford to eat at The Peddler. Some have to settle for the "House of Beef".

I had a bad experience at Sugar as well. I'll never go back there again and I discourage everyone I know from going there. Worst management of any ski resort I've ever seen. They screw people at will and will keep on doing it until folks just stop going there.

Joel, I think we've all had a bad experience at most ski areas. If you go often enough you'll hit a bad day anywhere. If we allowed that to dictate whether we'd ski there again or not - we'd never ski anywhere.



Sugar's management team may not be the kindest, warm and fuzzy people on the planet, but it is inaccurate to say that they have the worst management, because no matter what else one can say about Sugar, they have GREAT conditions more often than not. That takes good management. Warm and fuzzy, nope. Good management, yes.



Frankly if you're running into bad management at any resort then you must not be on the snow and that's where you'll find me most of the time.





Good slopes = good management to me.
