The End of an Era...We are Shutting Down the Messageboard
The messageboard is now in read-only mode and no new posts or topics can be created. We will leave the messageboard up for historical purposes, but you will not be able to make new posts or comment on existing ones.
We have started a Discord server and hope that you all will join us on there. Technology has changed over the years and maintaining the messageboard has become somewhat of a pain in the butt and Discord offers many features for users, the main one being a very polished mobile app.

Actually, LugNutz... the run from the Peak doesn't require a 60 ft rappel down- at least not during a good snow year. Its about a 20-30 min hike from the top of the highest lift. I skied it from the top in April 2008, at the end of their 425" season. 
This is the view from the top looking to the south towards Gunni, with John and Jamie just below me getting ready to drop in.
John (in red) and Jamie (in green) just below the summit. The peak is just above and to the left of Jamie's head, and you can see the ridiculous amount of snow still up there. It was about a 5-6 foot drop to get off the summit (you can see the rocks just below the peak).

^ haha... maybe the guy that was saying that cuz we didnt have NEAR the conditions u did! i dunno, i just relaying what i heard cuz i sure wasnt goin to find out for myself!! not that anyone would exaggerate a when talking to an alabama boy who never visited before

Lived in CB for a winter. Great ski town and mountain. Make sure to visit "The Secret Stash" - A restaurant at the very end of Elk Ave. It is a converted historic house. -Unbelievable food and unique atmosphere and adult beverages. Get the pizza. Tad pricey, but worth it. Stop by "Talk of the Town", "The Eldo" and "Kochever's" for a beer before heading back to Gunni. If you eat out more than once, get a bison burger or bison philly from The Eldo. I miss that town. Have fun.
