Although I have another thread from last week about skiing at home, this week deserves a whole new thread and video!

Today makes the 11th straight day the hill could be skied. I made about 25 runs this evening while it was getting dark.

Last week's meltdown and refreeze was the best thing that could have happened to my hill. The snow has re-froze into a solid base that is keeping me out of the rocks all over the hill....well almost. There are a few barespots on my "slope" where I made some turns last week. However, everything is solid and even though it is only 3-8 inches in depth, the skiing is the best it has ever been. Around here, we usually lose everything during a meltdown. The last time it was this good was around 2006. Before that 1998.

This afternoon after work I headed to the hill and brought the wife along to document the action on our camera. Made a few jumps off the rocks too. Lots of fun!

There was even some powder behind what is left of my snow fence from the new snow overnight. I really need to get some more fence because it really drifts well on this hill. I think Whitegrass in WV and a few other XC areas farm snow with fence. I know several out west do on the upper parts of the mountain where wind strips the snow away if they don't add some fence. Especially early in the season....enough talk...here is the vid!

Now that you show something to huck, you will find EC poaching your stash.

Yeah, if I don't get to ski your hill this season it's a major failure on my part. I'll let you know next weekend I can make it home...

Love that big grin as you head up for another run! Hope you get another dump that lasts for another week or two. :D

Great video, T. It's so nice to see that you are really enoying your hill this season. What happen to all of your fence? I thought you had enough to stretch all the way up the hill.

That cheap plastic fence was started ripping apart all over, the only way to go is the wooden picket type. The posts are still up, just need fence.

As for night skiing, on Christmas Eve my brother and I hit it up with a few LED flashlights taped to broom sticks pointing down the hill. 4 more of those and we'd be good to go! Those LED lights have great battery life and put out a great flat light. We only had 2 and could see pretty good.

That is awesome. And the rope tow is genius. You've got a great piece of property there. Maybe you should start charging? ha
