1/12/10..Being a carpenter this time of year has meant a lot of down time in between projects.I'm off work until at least thursday. My mom called mon. evening and asked if I wanted to spend a night or two at their timeshare at Massanutten since they weren't gonna stay the whole week (fri.-fri ) and were already headed home..She didn't have to ask twice.

I was running a little late so I didn't get up top until about 9:45,it was snowing lightly , still plenty of untouched cords though.

The sun came out after lunch and it softened the snow up perfectly , almost spring corn like

But what really impressed me was Massanutten's park. There have been some great TR from Mass recently (even a Hall of famer by EC!!) Haven't seen any coverage from the park and it really needs some recognition

Buttery groomed park line+ sunny skies.

A fine day on the snow at the mighty mass !

Thank you! I know nothing about park so could never tell if this was a good set up or not. Although it's quite impressive compared with what I've seen at Beech and Wintergreen.

You can see it better from the tubing hill than the ski area. I noticed that Mnut now has a webpage that's updated daily listing features for both parks. Marz Jr. and I have played a little on the easy one that has been moved to the side of Geronimo (green run off conveyor loading Lift 3).

On Sunday, the only place they kept blowing snow during the day was CMB.

I took my level 1 AASI test at Mass and we spent a few hours in the park with one of the AASI team members that happened to be a local there. He taught me board slides. Fond memories. When I was there they had a MASSIVE hip that was so sweeeet. But that was like 5 years ago.

Great TR. The park at Massanutten is a bit underrated for what it is in the area. I was up there for a demo/comp and ended up competing in the slopestyle a while back. They do a great job of keeping the place groomed and the lines smooth. Its a pretty fun mountain.

I started skiing at Mnut about that time. IMHO, it's been getting better every year. Redoing Geronimo to replace the old slow double-chair with a conveyor belt loading quad really made a difference in terms of lift lines at the bottom. As did going to flex tickets last season. Even the food has improved this winter.
