The End of an Era...We are Shutting Down the Messageboard

The messageboard is now in read-only mode and no new posts or topics can be created. We will leave the messageboard up for historical purposes, but you will not be able to make new posts or comment on existing ones.

We have started a Discord server and hope that you all will join us on there. Technology has changed over the years and maintaining the messageboard has become somewhat of a pain in the butt and Discord offers many features for users, the main one being a very polished mobile app.

We really hope you all will join us on Discord and think you will like the platform. Use the invite link below to join.

Hey David, it hasn't snowed since the last time you asked about conditions. :(

When are you coming out here again? There are storms lined up next week, so hopefully they'll deliver- because right now the conditions SUCK. Bony as hell just about anywhere that's not groomed.

If it tells you anything, I'm not even thinking about skiing this weekend.

^^ Yeah, I leave Jan 28th -- which is getting close enough for the forecasts to start actually meaning something

I don't expect a meaningful build up to the base between now and then so I hope to get some good storm event while I'm there. The first days at LL and A-basin I'll be with my brother and a very inexperienced friend (both from Texas ... yeah I know) So that will be ok whatever the conditions. Hope to get some good stuff the next week at WP/MJ. Whatever happens the lack of base is going to limit whats available off trail in the trees.

So you aren't even hitting Berthoud or other BC without more snow?

At least I got some deep fluffy powder in WV last week ... hmmm, powder

I'm not hitting Berthoud because the snowpack is extremely dangerous, and the lack of snow means its not worth it.

One storm could build the base out here to an acceptable level... we've all got our fingers crossed.
