Headed up to wintergreen for the night wasn't sure how conditions would be with the recent ice but turned out to be great. Even got a free lift ticket from a guy in a group that was to tired from the day. You can't beat that price. No real ice on any of the slops most were either packed powder or loose granular. Some runs were a little bumpy with 1-2ft piles of loose granular snow. Big acron would have to have been the best of the night since they had groomed it for the race making it super smooth and fast. Anyway on with the crappy pics(still trying to figure my new camera out)

Cheers. We skied WTG daytime on 1/23 then drove home. Conditions were really good considering they had over an inch of freezing rain the night before. That's when you appreciate good grooming instead of hating it. Outside the edge markers, the ice was more like a very hard slippery rock. However, they grooming also knocked out any bumps or whales so the slopes were a little boring except for outer limits which had some neonatal bumps and man-made powder and tequila which had a nice fun bowl shape to it. They need a new real black diamond section. On the flip side, we parked two spots away from the slope (!!!!) and never even looked at the notorious blue ridge express. By 1pm the lines were becoming a problem even on the highlands and we left at 2pm. That's 5 straight hours of skiing on decent slopes so no complaints.

Nice, Im planning on going to wintergreen for the first time in feb. It just happens to be the monday of Presidents week. Is it going to be really crowded for that holiday weekend?

Plan on being there first thing in the morning and you should be fine for a few hours... Saturday ~ noon steer clear of the Blue Ridge Express (6pack that serves the main green runs)... we're hoping to hit WTG sometime this weekend if the weather cooperates... probably Saturday

At night wintergreen seems to clear out. On saturday night the wait for the blue ridge express was about 10mins. No real wait for the green lifts potato patch and loggers alley. I recommend those for beginners instead of going all the way down to the blue ridge express. You can get in more runs instead of waiting in line.

When I went off on my own there was no wait for the big acron lift. I was riding solo on a 4 person lift since no one else was in line when I would get to the bottom.

Also for those that enjoy a good beer the devils backbone brewery next to the ski barn has some great food and beers.

Not Sat. As long as conditions are looking good, heading up on Sun.

Discovered that Costco in Durham as a 3-pack for $155 for WTG, good any day. Over by itself, not in the section that has the Snowshoe 2-pack.
2023-24: Wolf Creek in Dec, Massanutten in Jan, Feb; GT, Big Sky; Crested Butte; Alta/Snowbird in April.

We'll be up at Wintergreen picking up our dog from the in-laws. They were watching him while we were in Colorado. Not sure if we'll hit the slopes or not. Might need the rest. However if they are supposed to get a bunch of snow we might. Are they still calling for a bunch?
