I woke up to a clear sky and decided to take a few early runs. By the time I got to the best western in Banner Elk it was raining. I parked at a buddy's place and the rain had changed to snow. I skied down big red and got into rain again right at birch. After that I didn't go back to the bottom because it was snowing hard at the top!! The snow conditions were groomed with the slightest bit of new on top. Bolder and woop were awesome. The weather cleared a little then snow, clear, snow, clear..... today should be great. For the amount of rain we've had I was very pleasantly surprised by the wonderful conditions. The fog in the pictures is really snow, not fog. The sun was out some... the weather was all over the place.

It looks great out there still which is really surprising considering the awful amounts of rain we've had lately. It snowed at Cataloochee some last night, too. Glad to see that winter has made its return to the high country.

No WiFi at Azucar.... something free at Azucar, not a chance. Thanks to Mother nature for the cold temps and resorts ability to build big bases, otherwise the rain would have hurt bad!
