The End of an Era...We are Shutting Down the Messageboard

The messageboard is now in read-only mode and no new posts or topics can be created. We will leave the messageboard up for historical purposes, but you will not be able to make new posts or comment on existing ones.

We have started a Discord server and hope that you all will join us on there. Technology has changed over the years and maintaining the messageboard has become somewhat of a pain in the butt and Discord offers many features for users, the main one being a very polished mobile app.

We really hope you all will join us on Discord and think you will like the platform. Use the invite link below to join.

Its amazing that PCMR/DV are so close to Big Cottonwood- I would have never guessed it.

Next time I come out there, we need to make some turns.

Only six miles from Snowbird, but what a difference it makes in snow totals. DV is actually closer to Brighton than the Canyons. For sure, just give me a shout.

No need for AT gear, heck you can do this trip with rental skis if you wanted. Not much hiking at all, the Highway to Heaven is a traverse which drops down under a rock cliff, with maybe a 200 yd gradual climb. My TR pic was taken just about from the start, and you can clearly see the saddle of Twin Lakes Pass in the photo. DV-Snowbird tours are M,W,F & Sun. This trip averages 25 miles and 16,000 vertical. Tue, Thu, & Sat is the Cottonwoods tour, which I've yet to do, but have heard that it involves a little more hiking in Catherines Pass from Alta to Brighton.

Is there a discount for SkiNC members? ;)

I wouldn't mind doing that on a down day- it looks like its worth it for the scenery alone.

Bopp, you guys would love this trip. If enough of the crew was here and you all booked it early enough, you might be able to twist a discount out of Ski Utah as well. I'm going to try to get on the BCC-LCC trip sometime this season. Of course I'll post a TR.
