My "every other Tuesday" ski day at Beech. My friend Matt was to join me, but tragically, his mother passed away after a long illness. He called me to late to alert another skier on the boards that I had room, so I just ventured on by myself.
I do not carry a camera when I ski, so no pictures. Besides, when you ski solo, who are you going to shoot?
Conditions were what I would call "spring corduroy" The only moguls, small ones, on Upper White Lightning. I snuck in and played with 'em a little.
It was good skiing, very relaxed, and lift lines were nearly non-existent. I really enjoyed the lift attendant on the Quad. Johnny Cash' Greatest Hits was the soundtrack every time I got on the lift.
I have been skiing Beech for 30 years. I hope to do it another 30 or 40...

I was there, too. I was disappointed that they have groomed the moguls out of Southern Star. They were fun Saturday. I hit the moguls on WL once, but I didn't care for the bare spots between them, so I stayed out the rest of the day. Skied from open to about 2:00 when it got so bad foggy I couldn't see far enough in front of me to be sure I wasn't going to run over somebody.
I heard some Bocephus and CDB in the soundtrack, too.

Although I love to see pictures in TRs, I would still rather get an update on the conditions at a particular mountain than to just not know.

I ski to escape electronic technology. Maybe I'll just start cutting and pasting random ski shots to spice it up.
yes it is all about the candy -- so don't take any electronic **** pull out the Leica, you seem old school
absolutely and only giving you a hard time
