Snowed 4 inches the night before, but conditions were great! Some ice patches under the snow on Southern Star (ouch Elbow and butt!!) but White lightning was a blast! Even if we went a little off the beaten track. Kids and I worked the terrain park features, even the 5 year did the butter box! Here's some pics:

Nice snow, some crowds in the morning.

Beautiful views

I noticed that iced over chair yesterday, they better knock all of it off or it could snap from the cable..

Can't believe all of the ice on that chair! Snow looks good but the lines look long. Someone give the guy in the boxers a shirt. ;-)

Sunday was absolutely perfect. It was like living the day in a postcard. Snow white everywhere you looked...with a backdrop of beautiful blue sky. I have NEVER EVER experienced conditions like this east of the mighty Miss. and I've skied a bunch of resorts with great conditions.

I've heard stories that this is the best snow NC has ever gotten. I believe it.

I've been skiing NC for many years...never seen anything like it. GREAT conditions! It will be sad if the resorts close in March. This snow will last in to April easily!

About the guy in the boxers. My wife wanted to know where his lift ticket was! LOL What a daggum fool. Skiing in nothing but boxers...and getting away with it.

FWIW, a great decision going to Beech. It was crowded. But Sugar looked to be insane. No way I would have fought those crowds.

the lines on sunday were absolutely ridiculous...but the conditions were amazing. The high speed quad kept having problems and it took about 20 minutes in line before you could get on.

20 minute wait isn't that bad on a holiday. the ride up sugar is over 15 minutes i believe on a day with no lines. beech did open up the #6 lift to let off some of the crowd. monday was great with little to no lines.
