Started out as a wonderful bluebird day with Beech Mountain still covered in snow.

Our hotel, The four Seasons still trying to dig out.

Got to the mountain early and met many board members in the parking lot. Chatted a bit, but most everyone was impatient to get down to business. First few trips up the lift were pretty quick, and we were thinking this is going to be a great riding day. The snow was great, and a lot of fun to ride. I met so many new folks which really made my day. Everyone was great and I look forward to see you all again soon.

Early on, not many out.

Mellow showing mountain love.

The Ravenette on Oz.

Ski Bunny

Little did we know that soon SkiNC would pack the lift lines. Still it gave everyone a chance to meet and spread the word about SkiNC.

(Pink Jr and The Ravenette asked everyone on the lift if they were from SkiNC and were very disappointed that they did not meet a single one, but by the time they got to the top everyone knew what SkiNC was about. ;))

The lines on Oz were OK for a time but then they to got long so we headed in for the auction where we got to do a lot of meeting and greeting.

Auctioning the new Gnu girls board won by SkiBeechNewbie, with Mike looking like he might even bid on it. Are you planning a move to the dark side Mike?

Oh Drink Boy

SkiBunny, Skiwryter and unknown friend

ClemsonKeri and Gingerchick with Stealthboarder looking on.

Mellow sporting his new hat

The evening concluded with fun at the Beech Tree with bands Native Sway and Yo Mama’s Big Fat Booty Band.

Much dancing

Fireworks

Yo Mama’s Big Fat Booty Band

This morning, saw evidence of a rumored back country experience.

We were really lucky that we got to go and enjoy the snow again this morning and stuck around until lunch time.

And thanks to the SkiNC stickers we got to wave to Carvebeast and Grizzley Eton as they passed on the way home and we each recognized our SkiNC emblems!

We all came home, tired but glad we had been able to have such a great time put on by Mike and Talia and the rest of the crew.

thanks again to skinc and beech mountain. good deal for 30 bucks, and good to see everyone again. I left at 5:30 to make the drive back to Durham, so it looks like I missed the chance to dance with pink. sigh.

the lines would have completely ruined the day if not for all the new friends around.

everyone has pics of blue sky, white snow, long lines, and revelry. ok, here are some more.

What's this guy doing ?

New friends Gaskier and son

Best inbounds run of the day. gaskier and myself had this to ourselves for some strange reason.

some nice little bumps and fresh snow on skiers right.

when we weren't standing around doing this...

Oz was briefly promising (until the lines showed up there.)

I did get a few retro runs on these...

I hope beech makes enough money to run those other two chairs.

Those skis rock !! I am imagining they didn't just slay the mountain but left it begging for another run--retro rules

Indeed they did. Thanks much for their use. I was a little tense at the thought but once they were on my feet I was feeling it. Good stuff.

Jam, loved the vid.

As for the parking lot fail, it was twice as bad on Sunday, as all the rough stuff had melted and became a sheet of ice. The SUV parked across from us slid 6 inches, 10 minutes after the owner had left for the slopes! Needless to say we left in a hurry after that.

Finally returning to normal function Monday morning at 10:30, and man what a time our crew had. Serious cheers to all involved in planning and execution, I couldnt have asked for more on a Saturday at the Beech. I think this made my 5th day on the snow of the season, which is mainly due to jamsandwich's membership on this board.

Thank you thank you thank you!

I will say this though, as sweet as Yo Mamma's looked in the above pic ^^^, Dark Star Orchestra in Charlotte POST SUMMIT was the only way for okcomputer and me.
