The End of an Era...We are Shutting Down the Messageboard

The messageboard is now in read-only mode and no new posts or topics can be created. We will leave the messageboard up for historical purposes, but you will not be able to make new posts or comment on existing ones.

We have started a Discord server and hope that you all will join us on there. Technology has changed over the years and maintaining the messageboard has become somewhat of a pain in the butt and Discord offers many features for users, the main one being a very polished mobile app.

Snowshoe 2/21-2/24/10:

Unfortunately the first weekend of my mom's biannual horse show is the first weekend in March so no summit for us this year or last year or probably next year (unless we want to be disowned from the family which is becoming tempting) so we had to settle for the time we could get away. Also, unfortunately our trip just happened to start during one of the warm up periods, so not exactly the awesome powder days that everyone else has been getting but still pretty darn good skiing for the southeast. On to the pics...

Almost there... can't hardly wait:

The Inn for those of you who have not passed it before:

The piles of snow at Top of the World:

The pile of snow outside our condo at Leatherbark:

Deer in the condo parking lot looking for a handout:

The piles of snow walking through TreeTop to the village:

The pile of snow in the village... note: she's only 5'4":

Onto the bumps... Camp 99:

Choker:

Into the fog at Lower Shay's:

Looking back down Widowmaker from the lift:

I bumped into this tree in Sawmill Glades... my bad:

Me on Sawmill:

A nice little bump at the bottom of Cupp:

Made a few turns down Widowmaker:

A nice little lip at Lower Ballhooter... need to work on that form... and need a better photog:

Got talked into the sleigh ride:

But have to admit it was fun and worth it if you like those kind of things:

Last run down Cupp before heading home:

Western Territory from the overlook:

Great trip, but got more pow on the drive to work Thursday than we did 4 days at teh shoe... maybe we'll get it next time... should be great skiing for the next few weeks...

Looks good to me too!Having that much space to move around+ no slope traffic / no lift lines is always nice.Enjoyed the pics.!

Yeah, midweek is definitely the time to go if possible. Even with the clinic going on about the only time we had to wait for a chair was when someone fell while loading and they had to stop the lift.

Silver Creek was a ghost town, but I think that's probably due to their slow lifts & short runs. It's a good place to go after 4pm to get in some extra runs with your all day ticket and it's a good place to go for day of arrival with a free lifty to get in some warm up runs, but it's just not worth the $40 to go over there for a night session... especially with Flying Eagle lift closed after 4:15pm...
