The End of an Era...We are Shutting Down the Messageboard

The messageboard is now in read-only mode and no new posts or topics can be created. We will leave the messageboard up for historical purposes, but you will not be able to make new posts or comment on existing ones.

We have started a Discord server and hope that you all will join us on there. Technology has changed over the years and maintaining the messageboard has become somewhat of a pain in the butt and Discord offers many features for users, the main one being a very polished mobile app.

We really hope you all will join us on Discord and think you will like the platform. Use the invite link below to join.

Hope this posts. Just wanted to send out a big thanks to Mike, and all involved in this past weekends "Snowshoe spectacular"! Being a new member, I only new one other person. That being SkiPink. Im glad she encouraged me to join up. My son Gibson and myself had a great time Saturday night at the party. We met several really nice folks. We met THREE Mikes, TWO Jeffs, and ONE Hubert(hope the hand is doing well). Both of us were new to Snowshoe, and truly enjoyed every moment on the mountain. I would like to share a little side story from Sunday. We had caught a bus to take us to top of the mountain to check out. Our plan was to head down to silvercreek and do some morning sking before heading home to Winston-Salem. As luck would have it, the bus driver told me that Silvercreek had lost power, and they were sending the skiers back to snowshoe from silvercreek. He told me to enjoy snowshoe, that it would be awhile before power would be restored. I took his advice, and we had a great few hours of sking. When we desided to head back, it was about 3:00pm. On a whim, We drove over to Silvercreek. There were a few cars in the lot, and I was able to drive almost to the front row to park. I felt like a VIP. Someone told us that they just restored power. We got our gear and were able to ski for the next two hours on freshly groomed slopes, without any lines. "Priceless." Most of all I was lucky enough to spend it with my son, and having a guys weekend to just reconnect. Thanks again to everybody. Hope to see you on the slopes this winter!!!!!

I normally would have been more discriptive, but I was having problems with my initial post. I sent out a short post to see if it would work. It did, but I lost two others. Anyway if you go back to the post you may get another chance to read about our trip.
