The End of an Era...We are Shutting Down the Messageboard

The messageboard is now in read-only mode and no new posts or topics can be created. We will leave the messageboard up for historical purposes, but you will not be able to make new posts or comment on existing ones.

We have started a Discord server and hope that you all will join us on there. Technology has changed over the years and maintaining the messageboard has become somewhat of a pain in the butt and Discord offers many features for users, the main one being a very polished mobile app.

We really hope you all will join us on Discord and think you will like the platform. Use the invite link below to join.

Berthoud ran the $10 day promo on midweek based on snow amounts. the more it snowed, the less money you paid for a ticket..... I think berthoud pass could run again, but would have to operate like Silverton does now. guided B/C.

What? Silverton does control work, and you can ski unguided.

they had just granted silverton the right to offer Non-guided runs. 2-3 years ago i think. There insurance carrier was the biggest obstacle, if i am not mistaken. they saved $$$ by allowing only guided tours the first few years.

I think B/P can survive that type of business. just hard to find $$$ backers to fund since it has always had a crappy track record of owners and operators.

also the private property lines that border so much of the B/C on the backside of the mtn hinder it. just my 2 cents

I can only wonder what the equipment revolution of the past few years has done to open up terrian previoulsy thought as unskiable. I know there were hearty souls willing to ski steeps on straight boards but with all of the fat skis, reverse sidecut, fantails and rocker the terrain once deamed untouchable is carved up daily. KD, have you been riding long enough to compaire the "then and now"?

Not me. I only started skiing consistently when I moved out here in 2004, before that I was a recreational skier at best.
