Just wanted to get out and skin and ski one more time so left the city in search of some snow
Not seeing much white up ahead but I do know of a secret stash all my own
This is a very good sign, I begin following a salt truck, must of been a very isolated storm:)
I arrive at my destination, during the season not very secret but today I have Wolf all to myself
Getting Ready
The start of the day
Looking down Viewfinder
I've got my fingers crossed the Bowl is still filled in
This is on my list for next year. I understand it gets skied quite frequently
First run down the Howling
I think Orville is saving this pile for next year
Looking down Timber Wolf, dog is ready. Worst of the day still frozen with some hellacious chopped up snow
But this was my reconnoiter run for the Bowl and I'm not disappointed
My skin back up Whistling Dixie
First Bowl run and dog says "we're headed down that?"
Beautiful spring conditions made three laps before I had to head out. Looking down on my 2nd run
I opted to carry my skis on my back and climb back up Flame Out, it took about 10 mins off the round trip. Dog getting impatient about my pace back up the hill
Few more bowl shots
And finally the carnage from a morning's outing
A very nice morning.

Sugar still has a good bit of snow but looks like somebody intentionally cut grooves in the snow!

This is freaking amazing...Not to be a spoil sport, but I'm sure resorts frown upon this. How strictly do you suppose Wolf vs Sugar vs etc are at keeping people off the leftover snow?

Thinking that most areas will frown upon this. I have begged Cat to allow me to skin after closing and they laugh at me. Told them I'd trade free work for a few turns, not happening. At Wolf there were a few workers who were very nice (waving to me) but one asked me whether I had taken a run. Made me a little nervous, but I definitely looked like I knew what I was doing and I was solo with my dog. Was thinking that if I had started at the base and said I hadn't gone up I would have been escorted off the mountain. I parked at the upper lodge and tried to avoid visibility whenever I could. I thought long and hard about publicizing my day, I guess vanity won out:)
