Logan, Butch and myself met up at the fabulous 211 park and ride at about 5am and headed up. No traffic. No popo. No problem. After a quick stop to get some chow at Bojangles we went to the mtn. We were met at the base by Blacky who referred to the Fie Top Rd situation in less than glowing terms.

Snow was awesome, and while the crowds never improved, mountain conditions did. Snow making+natural falling the entire time=good day! If you got there early you could get your laps in. Total on the day I got about 19 in. Cant complain. Got to have fun and fellowshop with everyone and enjoy some of Bopp's epic BBQ which I found out was from Quality Foods for added epicness. A couple of people were kind enough to let me sample their refreshments and for that I thank them. Whatever that apple flavored stuff was...it was great tasting. It was nice meeting a bunch of folks for the first time: Bronco, the ClemsonKeri's, Zeus, 2Slik, NCSU Skiing, gbulm1234, teledave and anyone else I forgot to mention.

Onto the pics

Skiatlanta

GaSkier wore UGA apparel and didn't lose a bet to do it.

First thing in the AM.

Wouldn't stay like this for long.

Lipht Shot

I watched this dude fall off the lift after getting drug by it for about 30 ft...UT sweatshirt? Check! Jeans tucked into boarding boots? Check!

Good people enjoying themselves. I forgot to bring my football season leftovers but luckily they weren't missed.

Blacky's invisible cigar...if only Id gotten a picture of the parking cone.

Some dang good meat courtesy of Mike and the Greer SC Quality Foods

I told you it wouldn't be picturesque for long.

Alley Cat getting a little more on it for good measure. Not only were conditions great on Alley Cat but it was pretty much deserted the whole day. Ga Skier went down it with me once, after that I had it to myself.

The sun came out for a bit

I'm waiting for an ecomomist or high level mathematician to come up witha theorem to explain why the lift lines are so wretched and the lfits so packed out, yet, the slopes are empty.

The sun shows how much natural snow had fallen across the mountain.

GaSkier declares the day a success...

A video of a couple of the runs in glorious 720p. I did this by holding the playsport with my goggles. Works fine. The glue on the velcro tape wouldnt hold the velcro to my goggles so its back to the drawing board for a mounting method. The tune is by some dude named aurium and its a remix of the Ice Cap Zone from Sonic the Hedgehog.

Yah, I felt dirty but a bet's a bet. You would not believe the ?'s I got asked on the lift about the jersey. One guy actually wondered why I wasn't wearing jeans with the jersey. He stated it would go better with my outfit and I believe he was being serious.

Always a good time, good to meet some new faces and also to see the old crew.

Ober summit, it was talked about a bit Saunday. SkiNC should make it happen.
