Expecting some left over soft snow from the weekend -- Dylan and I headed toward Boone this early AM to split the day between Beech and Sugar. Our expectations were exceeded, it was snowing when we arrived and it just got thicker as the day commenced -- tomorrow should be amazing although it may be groomed down, it just kept building for us.

I disregarded the chain warning and the Beech parkway was rough -- we made it but passed many who didn't. I tryed and failed to get chains yesterday around here but will not disregard the warning again...

Parking lot was about empty as was the mountain

The blowers were pretty brutal along with already low visibility -- but it was sweet in the

gaps. I will agree with others and say that blowers that face diagonal to down slope make things a lot easier--Sugar did a much better job orienting them that way

Hmmn, at one point we got separated and I must have gotten disoriented

Anyway we left Beech around noon,

took 15lbs of air out of the driving tires and headed to Sugar where with less wind the snow was really gathering.

Tom Terrific was open which surprised me; nice at the top; although I forgot my shell

Lift ride up I decided no matter what the coverage last spring it was probably a mistake to hit this

Dylan and I got seperated again and I guess I got my trails mixed up (the enforcers don't have the float of the P4's, I felt something hard every other turn, can't recommend this)

It was a great day and the lack of park feature meant that me and my son spent the whole day riding together (except when I got lost)

Left with it still dumping at 4pm

Looks awesome man. man it sucks i gotta work a 40 hr work week for a while. Also, keep an eye out on freecycle for tire chains. I got mine from there and they work fine.

Nice job, David. Great to see you actually got a day in with your son. I thought you would have been around this weekend.

Actually I was within spitting distance of Cat this weekend but completely tied up w/ family stuff

So I had to come home and drive back out to get in my first day -- well worth it though.

That is incredible looking for the first week of December. Jealous for sure. The only consolation I have is knowing I'll be at Beech Thursday for some leftovers. Judging by the lack of other people in your pics, I'm sure there will be some.
