Bo...
I got in the canyon, just didn't push as hard as I should have...Utah was a total whirl wind for me. I'd never seen anything like it. Looking back, I see what I missed. I'll be back.

Fackin' awesome man!!!
Pretty sure that's correct, G....but Summit extends down on the other side of the ridge further than you have highlighted.
Side note....bootpacking Evergreen to hit the pow stashes with EC did not suck.
k2jizzle,
I tried to pull you and Keith in there...
SR,
Nice tour pics...bomber TR

Gresham- that is right.
Today I used the AT boots for the first time and skied Mike's volkl explosivs with fritschis. The skin up was WWAAYY easier, but the liners are pretty much done and my foot was swimming inside the boot. I can either get new liners or a new boot. New liners will probably be around $100 and will probably work ok, or I can look for a new boot. Garmonts are better for wider feet while scarpas run a bit narrower, and my feet are narrow.
Anyway, today Kate and I skinned up wolverine which went really quick. We didn't take the ridge up tuscarora to Wolverine instead we just skinned straight up to the top. The snow was pretty baked and crusty in places, but the skinning was easy. We made it up in 25 or 30 minutes. From the top we skied a chute in the Wolverine Cirque that sounded good in the "Chuting Gallery" by Andrew Mclean, I believe it was Bronco Chute that we skied. McLean claims it is 42 degrees. The chute was good, the whole area was wind effected and the top section was pretty firm and chalky. The snow softened up about 1/3 of the way down, but was still dense and heavy. Stability was good the only thing we had to deal with was a lot of sluff. The apron was wind plastered and made for really variable snow and an interesting descent. I'll post pics when I feel like uploading them. I'm pretty tired after a week of touring and waking up early for work.

Skiing has been pretty fun the last few days. The new snow (4") helped make the skiing better. Baldy chutes still isn't open... maybe patrol wants it a little softer before opening it. A few years ago a patroller lost a ski and fell at the top of little chute and pinballed all the way down in front of most of the other patrollers. They called in a life flight before the patroller even stopped sliding. She almost lost her leg and still can't walk, so i think after that happened they are tentative to open it to the public in less than ideal snow. Traversing to ballroom under the chutes the snow looked incredible in the baldy chutes. Its hasn't been open in a moth so it has gone through several cycles of new snow, now it has a 6" layer of blower on top of denser snow. It seems like ideal conditions to open it. I guess they live by their motto: Tough as nails; slow as snails. East Castle also looks good to go, but I don't expect it to open before March or some time. No pics, nothing interesting to see out here for the time being

It was fun skiing with you yesterday, always good to make turns with a skincer, especially since we keep a similar pace and ski the same terrain. The light was pretty terrible, we skinned up to within 50' vert of the summit of Patsy Marley and dropped in by the big reflector/dish/board thing. We had to wait to drop in since the vis was pretty bad when we got to the top, but we finally got a clearing and enjoyed about 2000 vert of dense but creamy pow. Things will only get better with the snow forecasted for tonight and tomorrow

I lied about the pics. Here is skiing rules sending it:
Pow schralpin:
I'm gonna throw today in here too. Skied with a group of peeps, two of which live in DC and I know through TGR, the other lives here. Bought a single lift ride up Milli to drop into twin lakes, then up to twin lake pass, then up along fantasy to drop down into Silver Fork from the Soli side. Really, really nice creamy pow on north facing aspects. Fun line from the top:
Find the skier:
Snow was fast and fun:
Touring partner Dan looking across to the peak we skied at the end of the day. Unfortunately at that point it was overcast and light was not great, but this is a nice shot of the line:
Exited out Silver Fork draining, caught a ride from Soli back to Brighton. Great day, felt much much stronger than yesterday.

Great pics EC, I feel bad I didn't get any of you, that will change soon though. I've never skied in silver fork, but it looks like a neat area--glad you got some good snow.
Thanks David. That area was pretty high on the backside and it was the first day in almost two weeks that it was actually skiing well
