Sort of a last minute decision to hit the nut on the way to my parents. I learned to ski at this mountain probably 15ish years ago so figured what the hey, also holiday rates hadn't started yet. Pulled in the parking lot around 5:30, got out to the slopes shortly after.
Overall conditions were slightly icy, not as icy as I remembered from the good ol days, but I still felt their snow was not quite up to par (however, I will also say that at Wintergreen the following day the snow itself was not the best I've seen there either) so it might have just been a sign of the recent weather in the region.
This is going to be the worst series of videos ever. The GoPro apparently does not handle night conditions well, there might be a setting to make it better but I don't read instructions so I wouldn't know. They changed the names of some of the slopes from last time I was there so the names below might not match up with the current day trail map. So turn on some music and enjoy this PURE RAW FOOTAGE (unless you have epilepsy, then that's probably not such a good idea).
Rebel Yell - Good condition overall, fun blue groomer
Mass Transit - Another blue, slightly narrower than Rebel Yell, a few ice patches
Upper Dixie Dare to Pacesetter - Started off with a nice narrow trail in pretty good shape. Because the main steep part sounded pretty icy from the lift I decided to take it a little easy and I was not surprised at all when it ended up being a solid sheet of ice. From what I remember in the past this run used to be full of giant bumps for all the pro mogul skiers. After that an easy run back to the lift.
Upper Rebel Yell to Lower Dixie Dare - More blue groomers whee
Paradice and Diamond Jim (BLACK DIAMONDS!) to follow when they finish uploading to YouTube. You probably won't want to watch them as they are just as bad as these four.

ParaDice - This slope was always my favorite way back in the day. Not terribly challenging but it's got a decent length to it. Lots of people to dodge as it was the only run off of this lift until later in the evening.
Diamond Jim - Fun fast slope, a few ice patches here and there but still very skiable. They had this slope closed off until about 8 for all the super cool racer little racer kids but opened it up with about an hour to go.
Lastly I ventured over to the park right before I left just to see what they had. They have a smaller park too but I never really found myself going down that slope. I didn't take the time to go find it because I was about to leave and finish my christmas shopping.
Sorry again that the videos are crap, I didn't think many of you made it up to Massanutten so I was trying to share what I could
