What a difference a day makes! Dec 27th, no one there.....just crazies like me negotiating the 40 mph winds and freezing cold for the waist deep powder on the slopes. Several had wicked ice spots due to wind, and OZ was closed but Robbins Run, Southern Star, and White Lightening was awesome! Many different wipeouts as we got used to powder again but it's much softer on the muscles then groomed!
Dec 28th, the sun came out and so did the crowds! Upper parking lot FULL by 930am, middle FULL with three rows by 10am! For the crowds, the lift lines went remarkably smooth and surprisingly quick! Got more runs than I expected in. For slopes that turned into ice skating rinks the night before, the groomers did an awesome job today making conditions NICE! Stayed off Shawnehaw as most of the beginners (bullets, yardsales) were happening there. Called it a day at 2pm when the line just got CRAZY! Holiday time on the slopes best bet? Get there when they open and spend half day or until 1 to 130p to miss most of the lines.
Roads? Still snowcovered back roads, and slushy main roads today.

Sugar in the morning and night skiing attract similar sized crowds, maybe a bit less at night. The main difference is that only Northridge is open at the top during night skiing so it can get a bit crowded. If you get to Sugar at 8:15am you can get better parking than night skiing when the top is full from the daytime crowds.
Congrats on the POD skiwryter

don't know about sugar on a holiday, but you'll get alot more runs in @ night on beech during this time. the mornings are alot more crowded than nights.
