Considering how much snow was lost, Timberline was near epic on Jan 4th.

Few people skiing, blue skies, and 30/39 trails open.

www.visitcanaan.com/timberline/snow-report.pdf or Check out www.visitcanaan.com/timberline for the Interactive Snow Report.

Just added: new icons on the PDF format, hopefully making it easier at a glance.

Is there anything left in the woods, or has it all melted out? Whitegrass report makes me think there is still maybe 5-8 inches consolidated base in the trees?

While I would personally wait couple of days before going back into the woods, Timberline woods have a lot of "blown-drift" snow from the guns. It's not perfect, by a long shot, but the base is still there!

Give me 2 or 3 more inches of snow and I'd be all over there again - that might be Friday morning.

my question exactly

EC do you think the lines you took outside of Canaan held that snow?

Brookbarrel's picture of protected woods at SS were very thin

Ludovic -- I bet you are an experienced hand at Whitegrass -- I have some questions

Negative, thats all south facing terrain. It might be good to ski after this weekend storm + the snow we are supposed to get next week though...

Timberline ski resort is pretty happy, and so is Canaan Valley ski area.

White Grass touring center is thrilled.

The valley has received more than 6 inches atop its mountain tops - overnight.

The woods - that's where I am heading.
