So myself and the mister headed up to Maggie Valley on friday night. We arrived at Wayne's place around 8:30 and there was already a TON of snow. Around 10 PM we measured the snow and there was about 10" already in the front yard. I tried to make some turns in the yard but there just wasn't enough vert to get any speed in that much powder. Needless to say, it was a fun night...

And due to said fun night it was a bit hard waking up at 7 to make sure we got first chair...but we powered through and 1.5 hours later we were on our way up the mountain in the first chair and got first tracks!

It's hard for me to describe, other than saying it was the best day I've ever had on the snow. (Only been out west once and didn't snow at all while I was there). Most POW I've experienced was about 8" at Sugar 2 or 3 years ago.

I'll just say this...I experienced my FIRST face shot at the CAT in North freaking Carolina on Saturday and I couldn't have asked for better conditions.

Lots of boot deep pow and even some knee to thigh-deep pow stashes were to be found (esp in the glades!) The glades were soooooo $$$. Freshies were to be found all day (it snowed hard all morning).

Final storm total according to cat's website was 16" and with that...here are the pics:

The lines were very minimal until after lunch. We stuck around till about 2:30 when almost everything was tracked out and the wind was really picking up.

The truck when we got back to it

Had another fun night at the pad Saturday night and then we headed back home this morning.

well, never thought I'd say this... I'm jealous! Long dry spell in Mormonia, I need some pow. Looks like a great time even if skiing isn't your thing, glad everyone stayed safe....

First off I want to say I had a wonderful time. Saturday I wanted to get some good early freshies but due to consideration for my friend I got started late. Mad three stop-and-wait runs. Then had a hell of an adventure in the parking lot... Memories made

Awesome TR, love the pics. I got a laugh of that icicle inside. It's nuts when you get stuck even with a 4WD in North Carolina! As for webcams, they have ones that only need an internet and don't even need a laptop. Just plug it into the router and you're good to go.

Nice TR, although I didn't see any skiing or riding going on. ;)
