The End of an Era...We are Shutting Down the Messageboard

The messageboard is now in read-only mode and no new posts or topics can be created. We will leave the messageboard up for historical purposes, but you will not be able to make new posts or comment on existing ones.

We have started a Discord server and hope that you all will join us on there. Technology has changed over the years and maintaining the messageboard has become somewhat of a pain in the butt and Discord offers many features for users, the main one being a very polished mobile app.

We really hope you all will join us on Discord and think you will like the platform. Use the invite link below to join.

Nice, Pink! Excited to get back to the home mountain, but hope the snow predictions add up to something worthy...

And yet another shout to that valley cloud shot... win.

i haven't had a leash on my board all season. haven't had anybody complain to me yet. don't see any reason why i need it. you definitely don't see any leashes in the NE or out West.

NC law in effect Jan.1, 2011 at all NC ski areas, All snowboards will have leashes used. Why take the chance, you can't say your board will absolutely never get loose and a runaway board or ski for that matter can do extensive damage to someone and guess who is liable for all damages. Is it worth the chance.

Why have a law in place if they are not going to enforce it?

So then it's someone else who should be responsible for your actions.Ahhhhh, now I understand.Laws are enforceable when someone is found breaking them. Patrol will enforce leash laws at ski resorts because it is the law no exceptions. But you are responsible for your own actions and choices, don't try to put bad choices on your part on someone elses shoulders. Ya gotta grow up one day, but in the meantime try not to take out anyone on the hill ok! Thanks.

Thanks for the leash info- I had no idea it was law now. Was already planning on getting one after seeing a runaway board come from the top of App and make it to within 10 ft of the lower lodge. We dove for it; I missed but my buddy didn't. Would have gone right thru the ski shop window if not hit somone on the lower breezeway. No more procrastinating for me!

Great, thanks for manning up on the need.I've seen too many runaways and a lot of potential patients.
