Had a great time in CO this week. Only problem was terrible insomnia due to altitude sickness, but still it was super skiing and good food. Breck is a lovely town but we probably will not go back just b/c of the elevation issues (I'm thinking Heavenly next time with its 6,500 base altitude as opposed to Breck's 9,800!).

We first went night skiing at Keystone. Keystone is a great resort but their rental equipment stunk. Rode the longest gondola ride ever up to the top of the mountain and it took over 1/2 hour to ski Schoolmarm all the way down. That is a loooong run!

So night skiing @ Keystone was interesting. On our last run, about 1/2 way down the mountain, THE LIGHTS WENT OFF!!!! They had some kind of malfunction and we literally had to ski down in the pitch black by "feel." They're probably lucky someone didn't sue them! It was kind of fun but scary. They shut down the gondola for a while until they got the lights fixed.

Headed to Breck, stayed at the Marriott. Good hotel but they don't treat their Elite members well (long story, I'll spare you!). The Charter Rentals ski shop downstairs was the best rental experience I've ever had. First class and I totally recommend. You don't have to be a hotel guest to use them and they were reasonable and you just sat there and they brought the gear to you instead of the chain-gang experience like many other resorts.

That phallic doughnut looks to be more than a mouthful. Nice TR.

If it makes you feel any better, I typically have a tough time sleeping the first night I stay up in the mountains above 9k feet too, and I live at 5500 ft. The lack of oxygen doesn't allow you to have a regular breathing pattern, which makes it difficult to sleep consistently.

Thanks for the TR. One reason I prefer Utah over Colorado is the altitude issue.

Good stuff, will be there soon. Hoping the altitude doesn't effect my wife... I won't show her this TR before we go since she has never been.

Talk to Jamey about the altitude pills. I forget what they're called.

I've never tried this but it's all natural:

This stuff is all natural too, and I've heard it helps:

Indeed.

Btw, I still haven't pulled the trigger on a new camera. I like your shots on the site.
