Well I've introduced myself over in the New Members sections... so I guess it's time to make a TR right?
I'm from Memphis and made the drive to Cat on a Thursday with a stop in Nashville to pick up 2 buds. We got a cabin in TwinBrook just below the mountain for our buddy's bachelor party. 6 of us total. Those pics will not be included in the TR. haha.
Anyways, conditions were great. Temp was perfect, flasks were full and crowds weren't all that bad. This was my first trip skiing this year and it was really just a warm up for Breckenridge next week.
On to the pics:
group pic at the bottom. i'm in the blue hat. bachelor is the tall guy
mando lift shot... beginners lift. a few first timers in the group
photoslooting early while the camera is out
lift shot up the double to the top
group shot top.
upper snowbird. no ice early
looking over upper omigosh. fun drop in by the snow machines on the left
looking over alley cat. the lip off the start makes for a great jump/drop in. the pizzaer in the foreground did not fare well
quad over alley cat
this jump in turkey trot was hit just about every time down. my buddy getting decent air
me getting not so decent air. this was about the least confident of speeds i went over it with. we didnt want to photo sloot too hard and get them to go take a pic everytime we went over. and on skis you really have to come in from the trails to have enough speed. cant stop at the top of the entrance.
elk kabobs for dinner- the orange helmet boarder works in a national park in utah and they had to "manage" the elk population b/c the wolves are gone or something like that. anyways he got to get the meat... and it was good
and here is what happens when you enter the park from so high someone jumps in front of you (not their fault).. i had to go over the jump at an angle b/c i didn't know if the landing was clear after the guy jumped in front of me.
one ski yardsale on this landing...
we got some videos too but no idea when i'll get them.
all in all it was a great weekend. we went through 3 handles in 3 nights. hit up Hurley's one night for some good live music. Cant wait for Breck March 2-6. Another TR to come from that trip.
And I guess I need a signature somewhere around here.

I don't know if the jumps are back or not. I saw that post where someone said they plowed them all down. This trip was two weeks ago so no clue what the status is now.
That's a huge bummer if they did take them down. I could never get enough speed to clear the gap jump, kept flatting it, so we always went to the one on skiier's right.

yea that was you.
i guess the first part of the mountain that will close will be turkey trot. not many snow machines over there from what i recall. maybe that's why they took them down.

Get a helmet dude...especially if you are jumping. Refer to the "that's it, I'm getting a helmet" thread!
