A friend and I hit the Roan last night. Epic! Tuesday night didnt have enough to hit the AT but last night was mostly full coverage. There were one other set of tracks but it had been from several hours before we got there. We went up Tuesday night as well but only got about 2 miles of ditch line. So after Thursday nights pow we decided to try again last night. PAYDAY!:>) A very solid 4-8 inches througout. Ended up gliding around until midnight.. prob would have killed it longer but headlamp life was coming to a quick end! Was cool to see some peps up there camping already. Would have been a great night for a zero bag and some brown juice! I love late season snows, keep it coming Mother Nature

Okay Okay Okay!!! Sorry. Was at work when I posted this today and wasn't able to pull pix from my phone.
The first one is the road up to the gate where we park.. This road goes up the to Rhododendron Gardens. Second pic is the one of Lee. We had to stop and make a few adjustments. Third is a pic of the trail in front of me. Those are the tracks that had been laid down a few hours or so before we got there. Check out the coverage on the little pine on the right of the third pic! As expected the higher we got the more pow. The last two pics were only about half mile up from the parking spot. Was having too much fun to get phone out when we got into a rhythm. Twas a great night for slidin around!

I can see Roan from where I live and there's still snow up there. Probably not enough to ski on though. I wish I had been able to get up there this season. As soon as I got my AT setup, it pretty much quit snowing.

I skied Round Bald last year. I was pretty fun. If I were to do it again...backcountry that is, I would try to get to Max Patch instead. The videos from there blow anything on Round Bald away. Jane Bald or Grassy Bald may be a better...but I did not have a touring setup or the inclination to hike in the deep snow that far.

Yeah I just last week looked up some Max Patch stuff on google earth. Man it looks awesome. Josh I think you might be the one that told me about there. Did I see you at Knights in JC a week ago? Were going go kick it in Hotties this weekend. Camp sat night and get a tub:>). Would be nice if there was still some snow up on da patch to glide on
