What up folks? Back for my 2nd TR. Here goes... part 1 of 2

Drove from Memphis to Nashville Tuesday night, had a ****tail and hit the sack so we could leave for the airport at 4AM for 5:30am flight to Denver. Flight got delayed an hour and finally arrived to Denver about 9:15AM. Jumped on the CME and about 2 hours later, pulled into the place off 4 o'clock road.

Went straight to the irish pub for lunch and drinks. I'm a big coors light fan, and that stuff is fresh out there, at least whenever PBR wasn't on special. got our rentals, walked over to 4o'clock to hike up a bit and teach the first timers in the crew a few things and then went and got pizza and beer dinner and called it a night about 8:30. The altitude was starting to get to me late in the evening and I had the worst headache and some slight naseau. After a good 10 hours of sleep I was ready to rock in the AM.

Overview of conditions... then on to pics- day 1. blue bird morning into whiteout afternoon snow. continued to snow all day thursday and we woke up to about 6 inches of fresh on friday, still snowing a little bit. It tapered off in the afternoon but stayed cloudy. Saturday was bluebird pretty much all day. I took that opportunity to ride up the t bar and the imperial express chair to snag some pics. Had to go solo as no one else in the crew had the ability to go, and I had never been so couldn't confirm there was an easy way down. It got really windy and some clouds rolled in Saturday but overall, couldn't have asked for better conditions. OK enough talk... pics -->

check in at the place. hot tub around back!

view from a place right next to where we were staying - snowflake lift

up the snowflake lift day 1

this isn't freeway but some dudes were pulling double backflips etc. sick to watch, never attempt. ha

here's the crew. guess who's the first timers??

not many action shots in the TR... but this will become a standard pic for me everytime i go skiing, sort of long story from the bachelor party at cataloochee. i am not moving...

kind of a cool pic of the clouds coming over the mountain

in the afternoon of day 1, everyone got tired so i went over the lap the 6 chair a few times. visibility was TERRIBLE though.

as far as I can see on the 6 chair

and it cleared up a little at the top, you can faintly see imperial express chair

a look back down the runs off 6 chair

did not run down this, i can handle moguls, but not the e chair ones

or this

day 2 = groomers having to stay out mostly all morning

ever heard of the needle's eye? youtube it. it was closed on day one.. then open on day 2

view from the e chair

and some random scenery pics

GO VOLS!!

cool pic of the mountain in the evening before we went out

Friday night we went out with some local friends we have in the town. Started the night at the igloo they built...

CHECK THIS OUT

can't tell how big it is? does this help?

then we went out to Celia's night club... decent place, but i'm no local if you can't tell

part 2 of 2

Day 3 i went straight to the t bar by myself to get these photos. Camera died so most of these are taken from my BlackBerry. Here's a sleuth of pics from atop the TBar. ran down Pika and Horseshoe bowl before heading over to 6 chair and up imperial.

and my tracks on the left coming out of the horseshoe bowl

all the way up.. and look everyone, i got a helmet on the 3rd day. happy!?

views

Thats over the backside of Breck, just before the Whale's tail saddle.. and those are a few black runs off the side of Copper right there. Cabin Chute is one of them i believe.

took whale's tail into the y chutes through ore bucket down peak 7 to meet my brother and convince he to ride back up the tbar with me... he did and was glad

random pic. my final line coming out of "the burn"

and reppin the Vols the last night in town at Motherload, also a very cool place.

my brother took a video of me doing a little dropoff jump at the end of 4o'clock run. terrible quality and terrible angle but whatever...

Love breck. Can't wait to go back to Colorado

That was one of many parks they had, and was rated a "medium" park. It has two very large (in my book) at the bottom that you can see.

that line under the lift isn't as skiiable as it looks. its more of an access to the mountain lift and goes over some rolling terrain and is mostly sloped sideways to the lift. there are plenty of deep pow tree spots though all over the mountain. are you going to Breck?

absolutely
