First off. I have refrained from watching anymore footage of Tahoe knowing I won't be able to get back out there this season. What a roller coaster ride it has been around here the last month and 1/2. I don't think temps. got out of the 20's today up on the Mtn. 8 month's is a long time w/out any snowboarding . After seeing the forecast, one more trip out to WVa was a must . I was surprised at how good conditions were today in the basin when I arrived midday.

Here's SS's main video man on the other side of the lens getting some turns in on 99.Having fun with this whole snapping pic's while riding thing.

Friday afternoon 3/25/11 .The hooter. Empty chairs all the way up and a nice racy base with a great layer of shave ice on top to make turns on.

Much better than anticipated..

As expected the white ribbon on Cup was shrinking , with some bare spots . Still lots of fun .

My fav. side hit ..(Thanks for the Facebook pic airing off of this , SS )

Side hit's with gaps to clear were fun too.

More pics. over the next 2 days. The pond skim should be interesting tomorrow at 30 degrees.

Man they still have a lot of space with huge bases. I would totally be there midweek next week if they were still open. I don't blame them at all for closing, but wish they would do what killington used to do and just run one lift until the snow's gone! Can you all imagine cruising ballhooter well into april, I bet some years it would make it to May. Ski and golf packages anyone? Looks like there is still a ton of freakin snow all over the basin side

Yeah really. I have never been there but it looks like the ballhooter lift would be ideal for being the solo act down the stretch.

A couple pic's from Saturday the 26th.Snow was groomed perfectly and super racy first thing this morning.Another good day considering the date. It softened up early afternoon, some good pockets were still around at the end of the day and of course some snow was changing colors.

Here's WakeBoarder's 7 Year old daughter conquering Camp 99

A little guidance from Dad leaving the pond skim on Gandy.

Grommet snowboarder making his statement at an early age.

The pond skim had a cool set up..Water temp was measured at 36. Air maybe a degree or 2 less than that.A large percentage of the riders stayed dry..It was fun to watch.Plenty of characters.Good size crowd on hand.

Only time will tell what closing day's gonna be like in the morning.
