Hi - I'm trying to plan a trip the week of Feb 6 at Sugar Mountain. We stayed last year at the top of the Big Red slope. We were wanting to stay there this year again but it's looking pretty thin.

Can anyone tell me if their is any hope this slope will recover? We want ski in/out. They keep saying this weekends weather is going to bring snow making capabilities,,,,will it be enough to turn big red around?

Thanks - no rain on my parade - were still going and i know there will be great skiing - I just need honest opinions on the condition of Big Red. I can book at the bottom of the slopes.

Do you think Big Red will be able to remain open?

Big Red looked really thin yesterday on the cam, but I actually saw two people get off the lift and go down.

At this exact moment, there is no coverage connecting off the lift to the actual run -- and there is some dude standing up there next to something (little orange sign on a pole maybe?), maybe patrol blocking it?

Thanks mommehK! Yeah i keep looking at the cam and it's really thin. Do you know if they will let you walk down to skiable area and start skiing..even if the top is bad?

Maybe this next cold snap will bring some snow making capabilities to get snow for you to use the lifts.

oh decisions decisions! ;-)

Big Red will recover this weekend but the long range does not look kind.

I don't know who "were" is but if she likes "ski in ski out" you will be fine.

Thanks First Chair. "Were" my family - my husband and my two kids. The weather reports are looking like several days for potential snow making - followed by more underdeveloped snow.

On my iphone app - accuweather goes out 15 days for a forcast and says that the feb 6 and 7 are going to be in the teens (of course that is super long range and isn't reliable but it's hope), lol.
