Went to Beech for the morning session today. It was only my 4th time there this year and today was the best of them all. A little firm early, but softened up nicely. There were a few nice rollers if you wanted some air. Southern Star was fun with lots of large mounds and a few moguls. Snowmaking was in full effect, but they weren't a bother and made for a little bit of nice powder in spots. Looks like White Lightning won't open this year since they don't even have any guns set up and Oz looks doubtful as well. Maybe if we get a huge natural dump. The rest of the mountain is in very nice shape. No pics is lame, but I just wanted to give an idea of the conditions.

BTW, there are plenty of signs posted at the ticket booth letting people know about snowmaking. Not sure why there have been complaints. Guess people want the snow to just magically appear.

It's not like they can't hear them either.

I'm headed out there tonight after work. I'll get some pics.

the complaining would have been Saturday, they had every single one of them on ground level blasting at about a 20 degree angle into the air. You could not avoid them, and you became encrusted with ice every run down, and blinded. This was while natural snow was dumping.

They pointed them higher in the air later Saturday which solved most of the problem and the soft snow underneath the madness is worth it all.

They had to be pointed low because of the wind.

Here are a few camera phone pics from tonight. Icy in spots and grooming looked rushed, but I can't complain. Robbins was really fun. I'm pretty sure they have called it quits on Meadows as there was no snowmaking and only a thin layer of ice and snow on it. Kind of a bummer that the park was lacking again this year after all the hype. Oh well. That's what App is for. Unless we get a dump, Oz and Lightning will not be opening this year.

Grooming was a little suspect this morning as well.

Im seriously considering coming up on Friday early. I'm hearing about a decent to significant amount of natural over the weekend and it seems like it'll actually be cold enough to keep the guns running for a whole week (seems like that hasnt happened very often). Thanks for keeping me posted everyone!

They got burnt using all their snow on the big air setup earlier this year so no snow love. Plus I think they might only have 1 digger
