Here's another incredible fact: apparently I can ski powder 6.5 hours straight while only consuming a Cheerios breakfast bar, two chocolate-covered mini donuts, and a 12-oz can of Mello Yello. Oh, and three Girl Scout cookies (samoas, if it matters).

powder produces endorphins and adrenaline in the human body - its scientifically proven.

samoas, sure. thin mints too. others, not so much.
I really like that one of the green jacket with the slopes and horizon, the crucial moment before dropping in. and the determination on the blue jacket face. How much time do you take to stop, gear, frame, adjust, and shoot?
The whole collection of photos and videos coming out of steamboat this week are incredible in this down year. Really thanks for improving my otherwise mundane day.
those _are_ some stinking boards...

Usually not that much time- mostly because I feel bad for holding up friends on a powder day. Typically I'll scope out different shots while I'm skiing or when we stop for a minute, and then just ski down below to shoot. It takes me probably 30 seconds to take my pack off, pull the camera out, and get ready.
Sometimes we go out with the sole purpose of shooting- in those instances, I'll take a lot more time setting up the shot and directing the skier on where to go and how to turn.

That looks fun- nice shots.
Good time to mention that I stand behind ON3P as making the most durable skis in the business- I had to hit a rock going about 20 mph (and I'm a 215lb dude, and I hit it so hard that skiing rules thought I was dead) to coreshot one the skis- all other rocks are mere scratches.

The only thing that would make any of those pics better would be if the skiers were wearing an aster jacket.
Good stuff as always KD.

Dreamn- I really like it. I'd like to go back on another weekday powder day and explore with someone who knows the area. It's a BIG mountain and there were a lot of spots that looked like fun.
Messing around with the shots tonight and I re-did this one... I really like it.
