There's one more spot there where people still like Americans - Normandy.

a lot of winning in this thread, traveling with friends, excellent

The French are great in my experience -- paris is harsh like all big cities, but the french have loved all things american at least since their introduction to Jazz

Annecy was a surprise for me too. Someone told me about it on the trip and I figured it was worth a visit. I hear that there is a huge animation festival there in the summer.

I see that Italian friend was impressed by your Breckenridge cap. All in all, one incredible trip. Can you pick a best moment on the snow ?

Or the drink I bought her, but it definitely wasn't the face under the cap. That's a tough one - the whole day in Vallee Blanche was amazing, but there was something special about the huge bowls in Verbier. Worst moment is easy - it started out as a great moment as I skied through untracked fluffy powder in Verbier while following my friend, but we ended up poling, skating, hiking about 2000 yards on a nordic cat track (which was not properly marked on his map he argued) with a slight incline.

A TR to be remembered! Best intro to European skiing I've seen.

Was there any issue with the language barrier?

Not at all. An attempt at the local languages is appreciated, but most people spoke some English.
