Kind of knew it was going to be a good trip when I had the whole isle to myself on the Midway- Reno connector.

Quick start at Squaw for a couple hours with their free 1/2 day of arrival ticket w/boarding pass proof.Yes there is a ski up Starbucks in that building.

Casa for the week on the north shore.

Daily sunset

Its been a very low snow year in Tahoe. Got lucky and caught it pretty good during this visit with a couple shots of snow throughout the week. 8 inches fell my first night. I knew Squaw would be tracked even faster than normal since it hasn't snowed much this season .Wanted to ride untouched snow all day so I headed to the West Shore and the goal was accomplished.

Stoke started rising when I saw this .

and this

Got first chair and followed a local kid down a groomer on the first run off

the Quad and a couple quick tree shots

Then headed to the other side of the mountain.Went right under the chair and called rebate.

Saw this .. and had to hit it a few times .Then into the woods

Was solo the first few days of the trip .Goofing around with the ski pole cam.

The tree runs were a blast.

Day 2 off to Kirkwood. 16 inches in the last 36 hours .Got a small dose of the Kfactor.Well worth the drive .

Chair 4 was only open a few hours the previous day so it had plenty of untouched snow left.

Cornice drops with soft landings were pretty sweet.

So did the palisades , a little bit of work to get there but worth it with some solid stashes of untouched snow. The start of the traverse.

Cirque and a few other pics from a beautiful day at Kirkwood.

Sentinel

View of the amazing terrain off 6 from 11

Ridge line off 6+10 pick your line and drop

Priceless last lap over near Cave rock before the Vail buy out.

Couple clips of mostly just cruising and enjoying the good snow + scenery.

Snake bite + only core shot of the trip to close the video..

Gorgeous! No wonder VailResorts wanted to grab up Kirkwood!

Love your tree shots -- can't wait to have the skill/gumption to hit those up...just looks like too much fun.

So how many spots did you hit while you were there in all, bb? And how many days were you there?

You definitely got it in!

Great trip BB --good timing too in an otherwise dismal season from what I hear. What is Mt. Rose like, w/ good snow would it be worth more than a day? It is essentially free w/ deals staying at casinos I think

So you had the Gold card and some others deals -- nice accommodation too, again did the card help a lot w/ lodging.

I bet you can still feel some of those deep turns thru the trees, great trip

I'd go there more than once in a good snow year David, or if I was staying in Reno during a storm! Mt Rose is awesome. Its steep and they winch several runs ,as well as leave some of the steep ones bumped up . A few chutes were open but too bony for tired legs .Some of the chutes contain gnar terrain and some are a single black. 8:30 start on the slide side(more mellow terrain on this side ,mostly) for a couple sun soaked groomers to start then to the Rose side at 9 AM. Rose side is steeper and doesn't get as much sun. Kiddie area is seperate from the steeper stuff on this side. 2 for Tuesday so it was like $37 a ticket.

Gold cards were $40 late summer when I bought 2 .Each card yielded 2 nights at the grand sierra and 1( sun - fri ) homewood comp ticket + 1 (mon- thur) Kirkwood ticket. 4 nights (only used 3) and 4 lift tickets(only used 3) for $85 total .Great deal!

Here's a clip of a groomer there.

Off piste lake view runs were fun too.

Just gonna add on here with some pics from the next day Wed 2/15

Woke up to the sound of the snow plow out front down at lake level. Looked outside a couple fresh inches over night.

Check the reports and head here . 9 more inches up top! It was only 9 degrees w/a -10 windchill . The Cali peeps are putting in toe + hand warmers left and right . Front row parking + bombs going off .

Light and dry . Most likely the best day of the trip.

Rocks were lurking everywhere on the more technical lines and no one cared. . Saw some crazy lines go down in tight chutes with hardly any snow. Didn't take many pics just helmet cam clips.

Scott chair .

Tried my best to blast the camera off my head . It didn't budge.
