13" overnight at Monarch, and apparently no one else got the message. Jay and I made the slightly-longer-than-usual drive from Denver to Monarch Wednesday morning to enjoy the ever-lasting goods... definitely the right move. We had the mountain mostly to ourselves to enjoy the blower pow. I mean really, a day like yesterday only comes around once every four years, right? Here are the pictures- all of Jay in action.

ON3P Billy Goats... once again the perfect weapon for the day.

This was taken at 1:30... notice all the tracks around Jay.

Til next time....

unreal!! I love it.

Is that a ski toting vest he is wearing? I didn't realize it's not part of his jacket until the pic over looking the base with Gunbarrel coming down into the parking lot (first black I ever skiid). Man I want to go back to Monarch now.

AWESOME!!!!! That shot of jay @ 1:30 is exactly the reason why I want return again during the week. We had the same feeling when we went on Thursday, atleast in a few spots. Did you hit any of the tree runs or did you stay in the bowls and open shutes?

RMac- he's wearing a North Face vest that's built for BC and side-country type skiing. It's pretty sweet.

Bronco- we skied in Mirkwood three times... the first time we skied Staircase. Awesome. The second time we skied Elation. Awesome. The third time we skied the open face that you can see from the top of the main lift, and down into the trees. Awesome.

Yes... but I did not drive. That was the first stipulation of us going there.

two questions -- how long was the drive from Denver

also, not that it mattered on a day like that, but have you ever done any BC around Monarch?

Jay's green jacket is the perfect contrast in the pow pics...the b/w is killer as always.
