Beech Day 2. The snow was pretty soft today as the temps just didn't drop as much last night as we would all like but the snow held up much better than I thought. There were almost no lines except for a couple of times. Easy to lap all day, unless you had jelly legs like I did! Got to see more friends including Davidski, The Skiwryter family (including all the cousins too!) and Winter and his family. This weekend was the start of a great season.
These two are my favorite pictures of the day. Winter and his daughter. "Fishy" just started skiing last year and there were many frustrating days for her but today ws her first trip up the quad and down Upper Shawneehaw! Congrats to her, she had great form and all smiles. What a great father-daughter experience!
And a few courtesy of Skiwryter
Another fun day with friends!

"Did you see the 2 I had mounted on my fanny pack??" Um - No - Not a place that I would have been looking.

I'll just tag along on Pink's report --
Nothing like a imbibing a big Beech Snocone, I was going to say Slushie but the truth is even at 1:30 when I left it was still skiing firm to mash potatoes. Lapping 100 % vert on a 55 degree bluebird day always feels like a small miracle. Beech has taken their snowmaking to a new level.
Some photos:
Upper and lower Mt. SnoCone
Skipink looking confident
Bultaco mashing potatoes (by the way I did make it back on time for my 6 o'clock dinner in Durham)
This whale was a temptation that at least one guy couldn't resist
There were 35 to 40 Ski patrol on the mountain and he got an instant welcome committee
Here he's actually saying "Oh, Is this ok?" to the group in red, we're yelling at him "Sure it is, Go Huge! ....Do it!" but he ignominiously slid down the side to meet the crowd of patrol
A nice day, but it still just feels like a preview to the actual season

As the icing on my nice day I signed up for the frontpage Giveaway late last night and awoke this morning to find I'd won four Beech lift tickets.
Thanks Beech, and thanks Mike and crew at SkiSoutheast

these pictures would be better in a powerpoint that has a dubstep bass dropper or a headdy trap hit.
