The End of an Era...We are Shutting Down the Messageboard
The messageboard is now in read-only mode and no new posts or topics can be created. We will leave the messageboard up for historical purposes, but you will not be able to make new posts or comment on existing ones.
We have started a Discord server and hope that you all will join us on there. Technology has changed over the years and maintaining the messageboard has become somewhat of a pain in the butt and Discord offers many features for users, the main one being a very polished mobile app.
We really hope you all will join us on Discord and think you will like the platform. Use the invite link below to join.

I was definitely the best Rupert on the mountain
I'll go ahead and share the dubious tale of "When I thought I Broke My Neck"
so friday night when snow was filling in tracks during each lift ride -- I got a little manic. The very best was along the edges especially between the drop off from the massive manmade base and where the trees begin
But the creek beds in these powder alleys would also appear and disappear in a pretty treacherous way, So once when dropping down from the manmade shoulder I hit something then went down fast and hard, maybe bounced once, knocked my breath out and come to a grinding halt with stars and lots of internal popping noises, then stillness and complete darkness and for a long chilling moment I thought,****, this is it, the boys are going to find me here.
Then I moved a little and things were checking out ok and I pulled myself back and out of what was basicaly a head plant into the muddy bank of a covered creekbed.
I gathered my stuff and scraped the muddy paste off my goggles and face what remained was a frozen shell by the time I met the boys at the bottom... they were a little taken aback and said that l looked like I had been dipped upside down in mud up to my armpits. They felt that was a good hint to call it a night but after they left I made a few more runs -- can't imagine what other people on the lift must have thought
When I got home from the trip I saw that even after my thorough clean-up later that night I had still left mud that had come through the vents to the inside of the helmet
I love my helmet, if only it made me smarter

sorry I missed this question -- I was staying at shamrock, they are older units and generally cheaper. Half the places are owned or rented seasonally by people who work on the mountain -- almost a neighborhood feel
