Blue Knob rocks! Especially when staying slope side with a group of high level skiers. More steep terrain than Snowshoe, and that's just the trails since there wasn't enough natural cover to get into the trees. I'll be going back.
2023-24: Wolf Creek in Dec, Massanutten in Jan, Feb; GT, Big Sky; Crested Butte; Alta/Snowbird in April.

I have not been to Seven Springs. I'm told that when BK has the snow which is rare and right now they do that it blows the doors off Seven Springs and has some of the best, most challenging terrain south of Vermont when it is filled in. I was blown away by how rad BK is. Seven Springs = max 750 feet of vert with few areas having that much. BK has 1070 ft vert with a sweet midload efficiently dumping you into 700 vertical feet of fall line blacks, double blacks and glades.

The lift with the mid station at BK is busted. Won't be fixed until after the ski season is over. So only the triple and High Hopes double for blue/black runs. Since there is unlikely to be much of a crowd, doesn't make as much difference. But does mean extra time on the chairlift if lapping Extrovert (if open) or Stembogan.
From what I heard about 7Springs from the folks who go regularly who I skied with at BK, it's more of a ski resort. Like the comparison between Snowshoe and Timberline in terms of amenities. Good for families or mixed ability groups. On weekends, it's clear that 7Springs always has significant lift lines after late morning.

I did okay on the road with a 2WD sedan with regular tires. There was snow on the road but not too much. The final section is not paved.
There are three possible ways to get into Blue Knob Park. I took the exit off I-99 that is farthest south that goes by Pavia.

That place is on my radar but it is soooooo faaaaar awaaaaaaay!Timberline is a very very long haul from CLT(7 hours on a good day, maybe 6 and a half if I'm hauling ass w/ limited stops),seems like BK would be 8 to 9 hours from Charlotte and north of the Mason Dixon line! The terrain looks compelling to ski!
