This weekend was Winterfest so there were some great activities going on. We were a little late getting on the slopes. around 10. There was fog but it wasn't too bad but the visibility got worse as the morning went on. All of the sudden, aliitle before noon it all blew away! Beautiful blue skies with wonderful packed powder. There was racing on Robbins in the morning so after it was opened in the afternoon, it became a little icy late in the day. Everything else was fun, a few poorly groomed spots but they quickly smoothed out with traffic. The crowds were just a perfect amount for a weekend, no long waits and enough runs open to keep things spread out. Hung out w/ Davidski and the Skiwryter family for many runs and thought I saw Enton. looked for AgentP but never got to met up although Davidski saw her.

Suddenly aroung 3:15 the fog rolled back in on little cat feet there was no visibility. The temps dropped at around the same time so they were able to turn on the guns too. (I will add though that the guns didn't go on until the fog was already in place.) This seemed like a good time to hit the road.

One new really good aspect, there is now a large flat area at the top of the quad of snow extending well out ,making a nice drop in and another down at the bottom just above the lower quad lift line to forestall the inevitable bare spots. It also seems to eliminate the mad confusion of everyone just running over everyone when starting down the mountain. Great idea!

Pictures because it did happen.

Fog! Also shows the new flat area.

I'll add a few pictures -- I left at 5am went straight to groups sales and Talia gave me a ticket and vouchers, so I assume Kendog arrangewd that -- anyway thanks Beech and SkiNC

I was in line w/ a bunch of racers waiting for the lift to open.

The grooming was pretty rugged esp. w/ low visibility in the am

When the races started that must have been interesting -- probably only see two gates ahead.

Met Agent P but unfortunately didn't cross paths again. It became beautiful later and conditions softened, Pink and Bulltaco

Skywriter and Family waiting with others for cardboard race, nice to ski L. White Lightening where pic was taken from

Rail Jam action
