The End of an Era...We are Shutting Down the Messageboard

The messageboard is now in read-only mode and no new posts or topics can be created. We will leave the messageboard up for historical purposes, but you will not be able to make new posts or comment on existing ones.

We have started a Discord server and hope that you all will join us on there. Technology has changed over the years and maintaining the messageboard has become somewhat of a pain in the butt and Discord offers many features for users, the main one being a very polished mobile app.

We really hope you all will join us on Discord and think you will like the platform. Use the invite link below to join.

[VIMEO][/VIMEO]I flew to Salt Lake on Friday and skied Utah for the first time. 4 days, stayed in Ogden and skied Powder Mountain, then resettled in salt lake for three days and skied Solitude, Brighton and Alta. I took a ton of pictures and will post a long report but here are 3 videos i shot handheld and frost-bit. Jumpy and maybe a little annoying to watch but I hope they show how spectacular it is there --

First is the anti-resort Powder Mountain. This is Powder Country, a large area that drops from a gate at the upper lift all the way to the road well beneath the base. A little shuttle loops around to pick people up, like old school Berthoud. (they were cool in the end about the moderate damage to their DPS demos)

This is at Solitude in the HoneyComb Canyon area, i think Black Forest here?

And this is glorious Alta on the day of their 75th anniversary. Dropping far right off wildcat where I was hitching short rides with the condo shuttles, or UTA back to the lift base

all the crazy lines across the valley from Alta

I'm just glad I'm not heading out there until the 30th...looks to be quite dry until later in the month.

Davski, was this a last minute trip you did when you saw they were getting snow, or had these dates been planned?

I want to go somewhere in march, but not sure where. Was thinking of picking my days off (which I have to do ahead of time) then seeing where the snow is best , but obviously with budget in mind as it will most likely be a solo trip.
