We had planned to leave for Utah this Friday for my first Western ski trip, where our daughter, Pink Jr was previously enrolled in school. WHen she transfered to Ft. Davis, Texas, she was not able to come home for Christmas so we chose to go to West Texas for Christmas instead. Bultaco HATED the idea of her in Texas, it's not green, it's too far from the airport (3Hrs), it's rustic and she's a city girl!

However, she is thriving there. The school is wonderful and the scenery is unlike anywhere else with it's own beauty. If only there were skiing, I could almost see me living there with the slower pace of life and friendly folks. Our family vacation was everything we could have wished for.

The drive from El Paso is 3 hours, I can't imaging what it would be like if we couldn't have observed teh speed limit.

On the way down we had to stop. There were drug dogs just behind the truck and look how many cameras are trained on us and we weren't even at the boarder!

We did a bit of hiking.

We went to the Mcdonald Observatory with the largest telescope in the Continental US.

This telescope is made up of 90 of the hexagonal mirrors!

Sadly it snowed less tan a week after we left. Wish we could have seen this! (Photos courtesy of McDonald Observatory)

This shows the School/Ranch wher she lives behind her.

This is taken from the school, showing the ridge where she was sitting in the previous photo, across the valley.

I found out why Texans always were cowboy boots!.

And I found my home!

My favorite picture for Pink Jr. wearing a NC Ski shop t-shirt.

A wonderful vacation with a daughter I miss very much.

I daresay this is the first TR from the Davis mountains, with the right snow storm that would be some formidable natural terrain.

Great trip, I like the pictures of you all climbing in the rock formations, looks like a good time.
