Left home around noon on Saturday (Bultaco had this motorcycle thing in the morning) so we got on the slopes at 3:30, in time to get in 3 runs. It started snowing on 421 as soon as we crossed the Continental Divide and didn't stop until we crossed it again going home.
Woke up to 7 inches of new powder on Sunday! Very light and fluffy. Hit the road to the slopes and had a blast the whole morning. It snowed pretty hard at times so visibility was low along with the flat light. I primarily rode on Shawneehaw because that was the only slope without the guns on. The other slopes were in great condition but Robbins was closed for racing and it was just really difficult to see.
As big bonus was that the slopes were either left ungroomed or were groomed so early that the powder was deep. At any rate there was no corduroy in sight. Stayed until noon and left because Bultaco had a hockey thing later.
It was FUN, FUN, FUN. I missed the Utah trip but this was the next best thing.
Not many action shots because it was snowing hard and because I was having too much pow fun to stop for pictures.

I think they were having even more fun than we were.

Grooming seemed fine last night, found a few death cookies from the early week thaw/rain. Visibility was aweful, made worse by guns on. WL had about 4 lights out at the mid point, which is where the big drop is located. But lower WL was worth risking life & limb to reach. Great night. You know it's good when you can ski all the way back to the car

Jeez this guy, he better get sponsored by 4frnt soon and turn his skills to a useful endeavor
Nice report Pink, looks fantastic
----actually, edit --- visibility looks really challenging, but still overall fantastic because it is cold w/ an abundance of snow

WL was great early but not so much when it got crowded. Southern Star was fun all day. After the races ended I got a tip from one of the volunteers that the left side of the slope on robin's was untouched powder. It was great. I was tired quick from hopping through the powder. It was like another planet. I forgot I was in the southeast. I've never been anywhere else but I imagine this is what it's like.

Condition wise, seems like the apex of the season, about as good as it gets!Hopefully we can still get some more weather and snow before the end of season!
