The End of an Era...We are Shutting Down the Messageboard

The messageboard is now in read-only mode and no new posts or topics can be created. We will leave the messageboard up for historical purposes, but you will not be able to make new posts or comment on existing ones.

We have started a Discord server and hope that you all will join us on there. Technology has changed over the years and maintaining the messageboard has become somewhat of a pain in the butt and Discord offers many features for users, the main one being a very polished mobile app.

We really hope you all will join us on Discord and think you will like the platform. Use the invite link below to join.

It's been so long since I've updated my 'pre-season' thread that I figured I'd start fresh... AK is still beyond amazing. It's a bit more rainy during the winter than we expected, but that's ok, because if it's raining at the base, that means there's a nice fresh coat of pow at the top. The typical Juneau pow I've experienced is a super heavy, wet snow. Occasionally we get the super light, fluffy stuff, but regardless what 'type' of pow it is, it's always amazing! Here are a few pics from the past few weeks.

Navigating through the endless frozen forest.

Searching for drops. We found some :)

Dustin on the lift, with Upper Insane in the background.

Trees are my new favorite place to be!

Bustin' through the heavy snow.

A wee little grab off a bump in the trees.

Those are probably not 'happy little trees'

Looking at Ben Stewart, the peak on the right, and the main chute on the ridge to the left is 'Sh*t for Brains'. Planning on checking that off the list by the end of the season.

Looking off the backside of Douglas Island towards Admiralty Island.

A good view of Stephens Passage and Admiralty Island. Pretty much the same shot as previous, but on a clear day.

Good golly I love AK.

My 'Pic of the Day' shot on Eaglecrest's website. Working here has been an absolute blessing!

Here are a few quick shots from the past week...

Cornice flying fun

Rainy day fun in the park

Another rainy day park session shot

Tire jibbin

End of the day hike to Pittman's Ridge. Ptarmigan lift and so many beautiful mountains in the background.

Peaks for miles.

No camera can do this justice.

Dustin catching a quick grab off a windblown lip on the ridge.
