The End of an Era...We are Shutting Down the Messageboard

The messageboard is now in read-only mode and no new posts or topics can be created. We will leave the messageboard up for historical purposes, but you will not be able to make new posts or comment on existing ones.

We have started a Discord server and hope that you all will join us on there. Technology has changed over the years and maintaining the messageboard has become somewhat of a pain in the butt and Discord offers many features for users, the main one being a very polished mobile app.

We really hope you all will join us on Discord and think you will like the platform. Use the invite link below to join.

We stayed at the Crystal Inn in Cedar City because Brianhead had a link to the hotel. After looking at it, we saw that the Mountain Express shuttle had a "daily" service that picked up from the hotel. I knew that we would be in a rental car without 4 wheel drive but who cares, the shuttle will get me there!!

When we arrived it was puking snow. It was snowing Saturday and all day Sunday!! Perfect conditions! We were going to be there all week. My wife doesn't ski, so I only bought the ski package for one night, which the hotel was kind enough to split for me so I could ski for 2 days on one night's package. My plan was to ski Monday and Wednesday, and take in some of the national parks in the area the rest of the time! At least that was the plan....until I called the shuttle service to reserve my spot on the shuttle for Monday morning!!

The Mountain Express shuttle service, which advertises daily service, would not pick me up! It seems he only runs on the weekend when he has enough people to pay for the trip. It would have been nice to know this ahead of time. This could have ruined the trip. Thankfully, Rachel at the hotel was able to change my ticket dates for later in the week. The road to Brianhead is steep and curvy for the last 5 miles and chains or 4 wheel drive is required during snow events, so I would have been screwed if we were there for just a few days or it would have kept snowing!

Thanks Mountain Express....for nothing!

Now, on to the pictures......

This was taken at the base of one of the lifts. POW everywhere!

A lift shot with more POW

Getting ready to go...

A long groomer

More POW

Brianhead has two mountains. I'm standing on one side looking at the other. See those cars way down there? The second one on the left is mine!! That's how close I could park to the lift.

Even more POW

And there were features everywhere for you crazy people

There you have it! If you ever go to Vegas, take a day and go here too. It's only a 3 hour drive from Vegas and it's great!

Pow and no crowds - looks awesome! Did you go to any or the national parks? That is a beautiful part of Utah.

Wow! That place held lots of pow after the storm! I have always wondered about this place and doing a side trip from Vegas. Thanks for sharing!

^^^^I bet it is like that fairly often with 400 inches a year and Utah's highest base at 9600 ft.

So you didn't hit Eagle Point?

I was curious about that place. Apparently they are a Th-Sun only resort. I think it was started with plans to be a private club, like Yellowstone club. But that didn't work.
