Yes, we went to Zion and Bryce national parks and did a bit of hiking and such. Zion was amazing!

It's worth it! They have some of the most gentle green groomers for beginners and on the other mountain they have something for the crazy folks! They even have a part of the mountain that you can hike to the top and do really crazy stuff like cliff jumping, etc.
It was worth the drive from Vegas.

Well, I asked about the lack of crowds too and I was told by some locals that this is typical during the week. There are so many ski resorts in Utah that draw the out-of-town folks that this one is sort of forgotten. Mostly locals!! They were shocked when I told them that I was from TN.

Yes, and the snow is so light. They say it only has an 8% water/moisture value making it some of the driest snow around. And man, is it easy to ski in for folks from the southeast where WE start off with ice, then snow, then mash taters, then slush all in the same run!! I was skiing on some of the steepest stuff I've ever done with ease.

Yeah, and there is a story there that I didn't tell yet!
I was coming down the mountain on my second run (first day) and I took what looked like a great trail through the trees. I was having a ball in the fresh stuff when suddenly, the snow led to a road.
I found that I had left the resort a mile or more ago and was free balling it! I ended up in the center of a cabin subdivision with no way back! I kicked off my skis and starting hoofing it when this very nice lady picked me up and drove me back to the lift...a 2 mile drive by the road!
I felt like an idiot, but glad she came by!

I was curious about that place. Apparently they are a Th-Sun only resort. I think it was started with plans to be a private club, like Yellowstone club. But that didn't work.
No, I had two fairly cheap tickets to Brianhead, so I just skied there. Eagle Point was another 40-50 miles up I-15.

Since you commented....
Played golf one day...
Well, maybe not! Those were in Death Valley which we drove through during my first week, but here are a few shots of Zion and Bryce...

The seminarfest was pretty good. I liked the human performance class put on by Shane Bush and another good one was the techniques of high reliability organizations. Another interesting seminar was legal liabilities of professional consultants. All in all, a pretty good week AND I won 200 bucks playing craps the same night my wife hit a slot for 500!
We actually left Vegas with more money then we came with for a change!!
