The End of an Era...We are Shutting Down the Messageboard

The messageboard is now in read-only mode and no new posts or topics can be created. We will leave the messageboard up for historical purposes, but you will not be able to make new posts or comment on existing ones.

We have started a Discord server and hope that you all will join us on there. Technology has changed over the years and maintaining the messageboard has become somewhat of a pain in the butt and Discord offers many features for users, the main one being a very polished mobile app.

Hate to admit it but this was my first time out on the slopes this year. My daughter had a half day of school so we left Concord early and headed up to App Ski Mtn for try the Midnight Blast experience (her choice, not mine). Surprised to see them grooming when we got there at 5 as I heard they weren't grooming between day and night sessions.Got out there fairly quickly to catch some good conditions. Started snowing pretty hard about 1-2 hours in. Probably less than an inch few quickly. With the Midnight Blast and Prez day weekend I expected larger crowds, but it wasn't crowded at all. Never waited in a lift line all night. Snow conditions were good until about 10 PM. Being the first time out this year I was a bit rusty and had enough by then and we called it a night. It was a good warm-up for both of use, hopefully for the SS summit in 2 weeks. My daughter improved her skills quite a bit and was very proud that she conquered Upper Big Appal, her first black diamond. Yeah I know that wouldn't be a black diamond anywhere else but for her it was a big deal and an accomplishment we had to celebrate.

Good for her! I remember the first year I skied and was too afraid to try Big Apple. The first time I tried it, it was a big accomplishment!
