Heck of a ski trip there. Congrats.
Bazinga and Teledave are right -- the whole trip was pretty expensive so the Heli add on wasn't as bad as you would think. I did the entry level 3 run package.
There are less expensive options that give you just as good powder, maybe not as great views for a heck of a lot less money. I heard about Cat skiing -- thry take you up in a groomer to areas that you cant get to otherwise and the powder is just as good for about 1/4 the cost.

I've got to try that one time, hard with the 5 year old since she gets car sick but you can save serious money on the plane tickets flying into SeaTac instead of Vancouver.

Yeah, I don't think I would want to make the drive witha carsick 5 y/o, my wife and 12 y/o daughter were bad enough. Especially since I blocked their texting capability right before we crossed the border, apparently Canadians don't text.

I dig the part about the price including a loaner set of pow skis. No need to dink around with your own stuff and worrying about losing your gear until spring if you eject.

Hey Winter, great to see you at Snowshoe, I just got to this TR
Hope your wife is getting over the worst of her injury, I've been there, hell I still am to some degree. Your in person description of your Heliskiing was so animated, it's cool to see this report. I liked the fact that you said you did not find your guides to be jaded or disinterested in their clients, that's often the rap I've heard. Of course the quality of your experience may have had something to do with the enthusiasm you brought with you. It looks awesome out there
---edit -- regarding the collarbone. The one that I outright broke is now rock solid, the other one is like a bag of marbles, I should probly just break it too

Dave, she's getting better, only two more weeks in the sling.
It was great to see you and to see the "Ski Amarillo" shirt in person!
I thought all of the guides were great.

I used their skis - a set of Solomon Rocker 2's, 108mm under foot.
