Ive mind surfed the roadside lines on Rt 250 in Va for years on the drive out to WV On the way back to the shoe this afternoon a couple of those lines were knocked off the hit list.

Looking a little thin down in Monteray.

Drive up a little higher to about 3500 ft . Looks like about 16 -20 inches on the ground!

We've got a roadside dropper.Very openly spaced pines in a open meadow with a nice moderate pitch and great view.

Creamy surfy powder turns . Works for me , anywhere not to mention on the side of the road in Virginia in the Spring.

This aspect was east facing and great fun for a few laps.

Kept driving uphill a little higher and found some amazing North facing trees.

4300 Ft snowpack depth of about 30 inches .Remember this is still in the state of Virginia .

Untouched nicely spaced powder trees on a pitch similar to Upper Sawmill at Snowshoe.

Surface condtions . Shacktastic . Double barrel Sequence

Wow is it really March 28th and is this really Virginia?

All time powder day!

Hurricane Sandyesque hike ;(

BONUS...

Made it up to the shoe in time to put on a warmer jacket and hit my fav. tree run twice just before closing.

That was going off too!

Nothing but smiles this last month has been one for the books for our region!

I've passed so many slopes on the side and thought "damn that might be skiable" but I never stop. usually too worried or in a hurry
