I've been splitting time between Pittsburgh and WV for about 5 years now, and the ripe age of 39 I decided it was time to get back on a short board and see what this city has to offer. I spent a few weeks checking things out, then this past weekend Snowshoe local and former WV Open winner Ben Moore came up to get on a skate for the first time in 7 years. Since it had been a while we started at Bridgeville Park, which is just you basic 4 ft straight ramp to a box and a flat down rail into a 4 ft qtr. Then we went to Polish Hill, a nice little 4 ft bowl but definitely has some cracks in it. From there we went Sheraden, its a really cool metal bowl style park, but it is in the ghetto so if you come up I wouldn't have out any expensive video equipment. After that we went to South Park, a very cool concrete park. Though if you don't get there by 8:30 you'll have to contend with 3 year olds on scooters snaking your line and parents telling you you're too big or old to be there. Pretty lame, but I just put my head phones in, watched out for their kids while tuning them out. Imperial is another great concrete park we didn't make it to, but a lot less traffic there. Then came the Tony Hawk Demo, pure madness. But I'm so glad I got to watch that guy ride live, before he hangs it up. I'll have a little video of Ben soon, here is the video of the Demo. Not the best shots but worth a watch.

The End of an Era...We are Shutting Down the Messageboard
